It’s been a rough few days for school principals. First, a principal in Georgia made some crazy racist statements during the graduation ceremony last week. And now, this.
Krista Eve Morton, the Principal of Mavericks High in Palm Springs, was arrested last Wednesday after police were called to the school when a witness reported seeing her in the back seat of a car with a student. When police arrived, Morton was still in the back seat with her shirt partially unbuttoned. It was also apparent to the police that some drug use was going on, because there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. After a search of the car, marijuana and rolling papers were found.
Morton and the student were both arrested. Morton bailed out, and the student was being held on $1,000 bail. The school has suspended her pending the final outcome of the investigation.
