A woman and a 13-year-old kid were strapped into a slingshot ride at an amusement park in Wisconsin on Thursday. And right before they launched, one of the bungees snapped! They were still anchored to the ground, so they’re okay. Obviously it would have been a lot worse if it happened during the ride. But the bungee came pretty close to hitting them when it hit the ground.
The crazy part is, the kid’s dad was trying to freak him out before the ride by joking that the bungees looked a “little frayed.” Or maybe he wasn’t joking. Either way, the amusement park is discontinuing the ride. Probably a good idea.
