Tommy Lee’s Drum Roller Coaster Gets Stuck Upside Down, He Keeps Playing Anyway (Video)

Motley Crue live shows are always pretty spectacular, but the final show of their farewell tour in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve was extra spectacular.

Drummer Tommy Lee is known for his infamous “drum roller coaster,” where his drum kit is actually connected to a platform that moves out into the crowd on roller coaster tracks, even flipping upside down on occasion. Well, things didn’t work out like Tommy Lee expected at this show, as his roller coaster got stuck upside down. The crazy thing about this is that he was able to keep playing, and he still played as well as he always does.

Having an elaborate setup for a concert is cool and all, but it doesn’t need to be this elaborate. Maybe they were trying to show off Tommy Lee’s skills or something, but we’re guessing no one said, “Hey, you know what I really want to see at a Motley Crue concert? The drummer playing upside down!” Sure, theatrics for live shows are cool, but let’s stop taking it this far.
