Seattle Teen Nearly Dies After Doing The ‘Duct Tape Challenge’ (Video)

Kids are stupid.  Everyone knows this.  Their brains are still a little soft and they just don’t know right from wrong quite yet.  Everyone goes thorough this phase, including 14-year-old Skylar Fish from Seattle, Washington.

Skylar and his friends were taking part in the “duct tape challenge,” which involves one person being wrapped in duct tape and then being timed to see how long it takes them to escape.  In the right circumstances, this could be pretty harmless.  But not for Fish.  Instead of doing this in a clear area, he and his buddies thought it was a good idea to do this right next to a big window with a metal frame, surrounded by lots of concrete.  During his struggle to get out of the duct tape, Fish fell, hit his head on the concrete and metal, shattering his eye socket and cheek bone and causing bleeding on the brain!  He then had a seizure and started choking up blood.

Doctors say that the damage to Skylar’s eye, which has lead to blindness in that eye, may be permanent.  He had surgery to take care of bleeding on the brain, which doctors say was a success.  He remains in the hospital recovering.
