Getting your license plate renewed is an annual task for anyone who owns a vehicle. Some people choose to get their plates customized to say something they think is clever or just to say something that has meaning to them. However, there are always people that are going to take advantage of such opportunities and try and slip one past the censors.
One person in Minnesota thought they’d be able sneak one by when he got his license plate to say “FMUSLMS.” Minnesota’s governor ordered that the state take back the offensive plate, and rightfully so. The Department of Public Safety said it should have never been issued and apologized, although it was somehow reviewed and okayed.
