Check out this crazy video below of a news reporter from KTVU in San Francisco. While reporting about a train derailment, Alex Savidge and photog Vaughan Chip nearly became part of the news when an accident occurred directly behind them, sending one of the cars involved careening directly towards them. Luckily, the sound of the impact and the beeping horn gave them just enough of a warning to jump out of the way, just before the car hopped the curb and smashed into the camera. This all happened while they were live on the air.
A little later in the broadcast, an obviously shaken Savidge came back on, thanked his cameraman and said that he just wants his wife to know he’s OK.
