A hockey goalie scoring a goal is something that happens very rarely, so when it does, it’s natural to assume that people are going to completely lose their s**t over it! And that’s just what happened when Stuart Skinner, a 17-year-old goalie for the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League, scored a goal on Friday night.
The Hurricanes were already leading 7-3 when Skinner played the puck that had been dumped into the zone. He grabbed the puck behind his net, took a second to line it up, then shot it the length of the ice into the open net. The place understandably went nuts, including the play-by-play guy! Skinner even did the traditional bench-long handshake after his goal!
