Earlier this week, CNN’s Anderson Cooper and his mother Gloria Vanderbilt made headlines while doing interviews for their new book, The Rainbow Comes and Goes: A Mother and Son On Life, Love, and Loss. During the interview, Cooper found out that his mother had actually had a relationship with another woman many, many years ago. This surprised him greatly.
After watching this, Joe suggested that we each call our parents to ask them if they had ever had a same-sex relationship. It was a funny suggestion that none of us really took seriously, but then we decided to commit to it and go through with it. It was easily the most awkward half hour we’ve ever experienced as a group. We played the audio on the show this morning, but also recorded video of the whole thing.
