A substitute teacher in Battle Creek, MI has been fired from her job at a local middle school after using the word “vagina” in an art lesson for her students. Officials at the school are stating she was fired for not obtaining permission before bringing up reproductive health in her lesson.
Allison Wint, the former substitute teacher, feels like it’s unfair that she lost her job over a word. She states that it’s just a word, and that trying to dance around the topic just makes things worse in the long run.
