Is Snapchat To Blame For This Car Accident? (Video)

So is Snapchat’s “speed filter” to blame for a car accident in Griffin, Georgia recently?  We’ll just cut right to it and say no.  No, it is not.

There’s a bunch of confusing stuff in this story, but here’s what we know so far.  A lawsuit was filed in Georgia saying that Snapchat “tempted” a woman to drive too fast, since they have a filter that will display the speed your traveling in your snap.  But according to a witness, one of the other passengers in the vehicle, that was simply not the case at all.  The witness said that another car pulled out in front of them and did not speed up, causing them to crash into the car.

So far, the only evidence that Snapchat was used at all around that time was a snap that the driver posted as she was being loaded into the ambulance, with the caption “Lucky to be alive.”  Now yes, posting that is stupid, but it definitely doesn’t prove that she was using Snapchat at the time of the accident.
