We always hear claims about people who claim that they were discriminated against because of their specific beliefs. And a lot of times, those claims are unsubstantiated. But in the case of a woman driving through Asheville, NC, it’s ABSOLUTELY the case!
25-year-old Cassandra McWade got in an accident and called her regular mechanic to come tow her damaged car. He was unavailable, so he sent Ken Shupe, another driver, to help out McWade. But when Shupe showed up on the scene and saw that McWade’s car was covered with Bernie Sanders signs and bumper stickers, he simply told her that he could not tow her car and left. His reason: he did not want to help a “socialist” that probably wouldn’t pay him anyway. So Shupe told her to call the government for a tow.
Sure, as this man states in the news story below, he’s totally within his right to refuse service to this woman, but to what benefit? How does stranding this woman on the side of the road help the cause of keeping Bernie Sanders out of the White House?
