12-Year-Old Takes School Bus On Joyride, Finally Gets Stopped By A Civilian (Video)

Admit it…when you were a kid, you took your parents’ car out for a joyride a time or two, right?  Of course you did!  Well, a 12-year-old boy in Bangor, ME took that to a whole new level recently when he stole a school bus and hit the open road with it!  His joyride was short lived, though.

The kid hopped in the bus and started driving erratically, which tipped off another driver that something was up.  The bus was hopping curbs and swerving in and out of traffic, but at a relatively slow speed.  After calling police, the other driver started following the bus and when it stopped at an intersection, his passenger took action.  The passenger got out of the car and hopped on the bus, where he was able to get the kid out of the driver’s seat.  He safely pulled the bus over and the police showed up just after that.

The 12-year-old boy is being charged with unauthorized use of property and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.  The guy who stopped the whole thing is being called a hero by the police department, who actually presented him with a ‘Challenge Coin’ as a thanks for his quick action.
