Man Accused Of Stealing 5 Million Bees Arrested In Quebec (Video)

Last month, we told you about the great Canadian maple syrup heist, where two men were busted after stealing $18 million in the sugary treat.  Back then, we called it the most Canadian story ever.  This news story is similar.  It’s not as good as the one from last month, but pretty close!

Two brothers are now in custody for allegedly stealing FIVE MILLION BEES from a beekeeper in Quebec.  The men are accused of taking part in the heist, in which 180 hives were stolen from the farm in Victoriaville, Quebec.  The estimated value of everything stolen is approximately $200,000.

While the immediate loss is bad enough, the cost of having to rebuild the hives and then repopulate the colonies which could take up to three years is the part that the beekeeper is most concerned about.  We definitely feel sympathy for our buddy north of the border!

Canadians!  Even when talking about something sad, they’re still just so damn charming!
