So…this is disturbing.
Members of a high school lacrosse team at Grosse Ile High School near Detroit are facing charges of animal cruelty after they allegedly killed a guinea pig and painted their faces with its blood. Sources say that this was done before a home game last week as part of a “team bonding” ritual. The school has taken pretty swift action, cancelling all future games for the team until the police investigation is complete.
What is it about sports and that mob mentality that makes people lose their minds like this? Minor hazing and stupid rituals are one thing, but actually killing an animal? What the hell?
