Hallee Sorenson was captured in a photo by her cousin, Rebecca Prefontaine, sitting alone at her own birthday party. Hallee is autistic, and though she invited several friends to attend her 18th birthday celebration, not a single person showed up. You can see her in the photo looking devastated and trying to enjoy her cake…alone. It’s the worst. Until Rebecca shared this photo a year later.
Now the story and corresponding photo have gone viral…like 150,000 shares viral. People from all over the world are showering Hallee with birthday cards. People have been so enthusiastic about it that Prefontaine had to let people know that gifts weren’t necessary.
