11 Police Officers Shot, Five Killed At Dallas Protest Against Police Shootings (Video)

Snipers shot and killed five police officers last night in Dallas at a protest against police shootings.  It started out as a peaceful march about two recent police shootings where black men were killed by white cops.

Philando Castile was shot and killed in his car in Minnesota on Wednesday.  And Alton Sterling was shot in a parking lot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday.  And both were caught on video.

But when over 20 shots rang out at the rally in Dallas yesterday, it was obvious someone was shooting at the Police.  And two of the shooters were using rifles from elevated positions and they were heavily armed.

Five officers were killed, and six more were wounded.  Five were wounded during the initial shooting and one more was hit while they were after the suspects.  One civilian was wounded too.

By the 1:00 AM Eastern Time, the police had three suspects in custody and over 100 police officers had exchanged gunfire for 45 minutes with a fourth who was cornered in a parking garage, who said he’d planted bombs around Dallas.

Police started negotiations to end the stand-off.  Obviously a lot more details and changing information will keep coming in.
