Boston Police Department Addss $89,000 Ice Cream Truck To Their Fleet (Video)

The Boston Police Department has forked over $89,000 to purchase a new vehicle for their fleet.  But they didn’t acquire new police cars or a tank or anything that you would expect.  Instead, they spent the money on an ice cream truck!  And no, it’s not a vehicle that they’ll use for undercover sting operations or covert police missions.  They’ll use it for its intended purpose: to hand out ice cream!

The truck will be used as part of Operation Hoodsie Cup, which is a community policing initiative that has been distributing free ice cream since 2010.
