Australian F1 Driver Drinks A Victory Champagne Out Of His Gross Boot (Video)

Daniel Ricciardo is an Australian F1 race car driver. As if those two facts alone didn’t qualify him as a certified maniac, Here’s what he does to celebrate a victory: he takes a “shoey.”

In case you haven’t been to Australia in a while, a shoey is when one imbibes a beverage contained in one’s recently-removed shoe. That’s right, it’s a shoe-shot. In Ricciardo’s case, the drink of choice is classic victory-champagne.

When confronted about his classy champagne shoe flute, he defends his decision by comparing the taste to that of vegemite- the thoroughly-Australian condiment made from leftover brewer’s yeast. Because nothing says “I’m an Australian madman” like foot fungus-laced fermented grapes!
