U.S. Runner Informed By Reporter That He Was Disqualified After His Race (Video)

Talk about a crazy swing of emotions!

Team U.S.A.’s Paul Chelimo finished second in the men’s 5,000 meter race on Saturday evening.  Right after the race, he was interviewed by a reporter to talk about the race.  During the interview, though, the reporter received word in his earpiece that Chelimo had actually been disqualified from the race due to illegal contact with other runners.  Chelimo looked crushed and tried to explain that he was simply trying to adjust his path due to contact earlier in the race.

Chelimo later appealed the decision and it was reversed, giving him his second place finish back.  Unfortunately, though, his moment was forever ruined.

Do you think that the reporter should have passed along the information in this way?  Or should he have waited until after the interview to do so?
