Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson Didn’t Know What ‘Aleppo’ Was (Video)

Sometimes you can tell the exact moment a presidential campaign ends.  Like the Howard Dean scream, or Michael Dukakis in his helmet.

Well, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson may have had one of those moments yesterday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” when he was asked what he would do about Aleppo.  He replied, “And what is Aleppo?”  Seriously.  When he was informed that it’s the “epicenter of the refugee crisis” in Syria, he jumped in with, “Okay, got it.  Got it.”  Then he went into what sounded like a pre-rehearsed answer.

But then Gary faced off against the the cast of “The View,” and he sort of owned it, but he also kind of tried to cover his backside. He said, “No excuse. I was thinking in terms of acronym, ‘Aleppo’. That’s no excuse whatsoever.”

So in other words, he’s making it sound like he did know what Aleppo is and that he simply misunderstood the question…when it was pretty clear that he didn’t have the slightest clue what Aleppo is.

He probably knows what it is now, though!

And Joy Behar didn’t let Gary off the hook. She said his ignorance should disqualify him from the presidency. Ouch!
