Surplus Tax Revenue From Marijuana Sales In Colorado Being Used For Anti-Bullying

THIS JUST IN! MARIJUANA IS GOOD FOR KIDS!

OK, we have to admit that headline is a bit misleading, but technically speaking, marijuana sales are benefiting students in Colorado!  Last November, voters passed Proposition BB, which allows the state to keep excess tax revenue from the sale of marijuana.  And since pot is legal in Colorado, sales were good.  Really good!  So good in fact that they had a surplus of $66 million!

The Colorado Department of Education has come up with an awesome way to spend that money.  They’re planning on distributing the cash to schools and starting a new bullying prevention program!  The schools simply have to apply for a grant and if it’s granted to them, they’ll receive up to $40,000 in January for the new program.

See, pot is good for kids after all!
