Gas Pump Charges Couple’s Credit Card $10,000 (Video)

All we can say is, hopefully this couple kept their gas receipt!

The couple pulled into a gas station a few weeks ago in North Fort Myers, Florida for $20 worth of gas.  They paid and were on their way.  The next day, their credit card was declined for a typical purchase and when they went back and looked at their gas receipt, they noticed that they had actually been charged $10,000 for 27,000 gallons of gas!  Obviously, this was caused by some kind of technical glitch.  But on the bright side, that would be a hell of a deal on 27,000 gallons of gas!

The couple immediately called the bank and canceled the card.  When they complained to the gas station owner and asked for the charges to be reversed, not a whole lot was done.  They got the runaround for about two weeks, all the while without access to their credit card.  After more than two weeks, the charges were finally reversed and their account was credited.

So the lesson learned?  “Always keep your gas receipts.” – Hot Wings
