Weather Channel Reporter Claims That Children In Haiti Are Eating Trees To Stay Alive (Video)

On Monday, Weather Channel reporter Jennifer Delgado gave a report about Hurricane Matthew, which was pretty run-of-the-mill, except for one particular claim she made.  During the report, Delgado pointed to an area on a map of Haiti where there was no vegetation of any kind.  She then said that the reason there was no vegetation was because the children in Haiti are so hungry, they’re EATING TREES to stay alive.

Whether she made this up or was simply passing along false information is not known, but Delgado ended up apologizing yesterday for her ridiculous claim.
