As if days like Columbus Day and team names such as the Indians or the Redskins aren’t offensive enough to the Native American population, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez has added more fuel to the fire.
After the Red Sox’s sweep of the Indians, Martinez said he used to “hunt Indians,” and then let out a stereotypical war-cry we palefaces think is so funny. Martinez has since sent out his sincerest apologies…in a series of tweets, of course. After all, it is 2016.
I send my apologies if I was misunderstood when I was trying to pay tribute to the Cleveland Indians on the TBS post season show.

I was referring to my pitching years facing Cleveland. Nothing else. Again, my apologies.
