ESPN Announcer Calls Out NFL For Poor Ratings And Officiating (Video)

Sean McDonough is a football commentator, and lately, an unhappy one. And the game he was calling last night was a grinding slog. Flags were thrown on an absurd number of plays, causing the game to move slower than the last ten minutes at your job.

Here’s what he had to say:

If we’re looking for reasons why TV ratings for the NFL are down all over the place, this doesn’t help. The way this game has been officiated is not something anybody wants to watch.”

It’s not often that a commentator will criticize the very product he’s promoting. Do you think he was out-of-line, or was he justified in his comments?
