A Woman’s Car Was ‘Accidentally’ Stolen, Then Returned With An Apology And Gas Money (Video)

Have you ever gotten into a car that looks just like yours, only to realize that it belongs to someone else? No harm, no foul, right? You quickly get out and hope that no one sees your embarrassment as you move on with your day. But what if you actually start the car and drive off?

Erin Hatzi woke up to find her car missing recently. She quickly filed a police report and took a look at the security cameras. Sure enough, someone walks up, gets in, starts the car, sits idling for a few minutes and then takes off. What’s crazy is that the car was returned the next day with a note and some cash. Her car was accidentally stolen and when the “thief” realized what had happened, he returned it and included some extra cash for gas.  It turns out that some older Subaru keys work in other vehicles and this car looked close enough to the thief’s to confuse him.

To everyone’s credit, they all laughed it off and no charges were filed.
