Yesterday on the show, we watched a video montage of some super-awkward video dating profiles from the 80s. Everyone in the videos, despite being in their 20s and 30s, appeared to be about 55 years old. They all told corny jokes, had awful haircuts and tried to appear as they were too cool for the room. It was a perfect little time machine back to an awful place in history.
The other night, Bryan Cranston was on The Graham Norton Show and revealed that he used to work for one of these video dating services back in the day. He described how the whole process worked and then even demonstrated the “perfect” video dating profile, set to the same intro as the video from yesterday! Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch, who were also guests on the show at the time, decided to join in on the fun and make their profiles as well!
