Since Monday, we’ve taken reports of six stolen vehicles in Rapid City. The common thread among all of these incidents is they were all left unlocked, unattended, and running. Three of those vehicles were stolen yesterday. Please encourage your viewers/readers that leaving a vehicle unlocked, unattended, and running is ALWAYS a bad idea. Whether left in front of a residence or a business, it offers an easy opportunity for a potential vehicle thief. The convenience of a warm vehicle isn’t worth the larger inconvenience of having it stolen.
