The reporting party informed police that an occupant of a Ford Taurus had just shot their windshield with a BB gun. Dispatch had advised that the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the area of Lacrosse Street and E. Omaha Street. The vehicle did not stop and, instead, continued west on E. Omaha Street. The pursuit continued onto Waterloo Street. While trying to negotiate a turn to go east on E. Monroe Street, the vehicle lost control and slid into a snowbank. Police observed the driver exit the vehicle and run from the scene. The driver was apprehended and placed into handcuffs. Three juveniles were also located in the vehicle, and police determined two of them were involved in the evening’s illegal activities. Meanwhile, after giving police a false identity, the driver of the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Monterion Winfrey. A plastic baggie containing a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine was recovered from Winfrey’s person. A CO2 BB gun was located in the vehicle. All-in-all, Winfrey was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Eluding, Impersonation to Deceive Law Enforcement, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a Probation Hold.
