Car/Pedestrian Crash

On March 29th at around 12:20 a.m., police responded to the 600 Block of Omaha Street for a report of a vehicle/pedestrian crash. On arrival, police located a male subject who had been struck by a westbound passenger vehicle at the crosswalk in the 600 block of Omaha. The male was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital for the treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries. After speaking with witnesses, police determined driver of the vehicle involved in the collision had a green light to proceed when the pedestrian stepped out into their lane of travel. Alcohol was not a factor on the part of the driver, but the pedestrian was highly intoxicated at the time of the collision.
