Sanitation Workers Search 800 Bags Of Garbage To Find Accidentally Thrown Out Wedding Rings (Video)

Last week, Shannon Lombardo of New York put her wedding and engagement ring in a paper towel to dry after cleaning them.  But then, she accidentally tossed them in the garbage.  Unfortunately, she didn’t notice her mistake until after the garbage had been picked up and assumed that her rings were lost forever.

After contacting the sanitation department, Lombardo and her husband headed to a sorting facility where sanitation employees were able to identify the garbage truck that picked up their trash.  They were also able to narrow down the search area to about 800 bags of garbage.  Then, two workers began the search for the rings!

Shockingly, after just an hour of digging through garbage, they found the rings!  And Lombardo says that the rings now have new meaning to her because they proved to her that there is “hope and goodness in the world.”

Well done to the sanitation workers for going above and beyond their everyday responsibilities to help reunite Shannon with her rings!
