School Principal Forced To Resign After An Investigation By The Student Newspaper (Video)

Kids, don’t ever let anyone tell you that you don’t have the power to influence.  This story is a prime example of that.

Students at Pittsburg High School in southeastern Kansas recently uncovered some shady goings on at their school when reporters and editors at the school newspaper, the Booster Redux, attempted to interview and write an article on their new principal, Dr. Amy Robertson.  Robertson was hired on March 6th and the newspaper simply wanted to do a profile on her for the next edition of their monthly paper.

Pretty quickly, the newspaper staff noticed some inconsistencies in Robertson’s story.  The man issue that was brought to light was the fact that the school that where Robertson got her master’s and doctorate, Corllins University, doesn’t really exist.  It’s essentially what is referred to as a diploma mill with zero accreditation.

Once this was published in the school newspaper, major news outlets picked up on it and it didn’t take long for Robertson’s world to collapse, causing her to eventually resign from her $93,000/year position at the school.  This begs the question…If these high school students were able to determine in a very short amount of time that the woman’s credentials were bogus, why didn’t the school board notice this during the hiring process?
