One Man Thinks That Watching Traffic Could Be Indianapolis’ Next Big Attraction (Video)

Ideas can come from literally anywhere.  Some ideas come while watching TV, while others come when you are taking a dump.  This idea came from an entrepreneur who thinks that it’s a good idea to sit and watch traffic.

Tom Battista, the founder of Milktooth and Bluebeard (two restaurants in Indianapolis) and the one-time stage manager for Jimmy Buffet for 25 years, came up with the idea to put seats up in the middle of the I-65 and I-70 merge area, so that people can sit and watch the traffic.  The project is called “The Idle, A Point of View.

How can this guy think that sitting around watching cars drive by is a thing that normal people want to do?  Surprisingly enough, a lot of people are on board with this idea.  At first the Federal Highway Administration said no, but after a little persuading, they changed their tune and said yes to the idea.

The area would comprise of three rows of seats and a sunshade for the viewers.  To keep viewers safe, there will be a fence put up to keep people from wandering on to the highway.  How about the vehicles traveling 75+ mph through the fence?? Is that not a concern for anyone?
