RCPD Community Advisory Committee schedules Spring Public Progress Report

The Rapid City Police Department’s Community Advisory Committee has set the time and location for an upcoming public meeting to discuss the committee’s progress on a variety of issues. The meeting is scheduled:

 Thursday May 11th at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the City-School Administration Building

 Members of the Community Advisory Committee and CAC Coordinator Vaughn Vargas will be available at the public meeting to discuss recent projects, initiatives, and recommendations for which the CAC has been responsible in recent months. Those items include:

· A variety of innovative ways the RCPD has engaged with the community

· Assessments of CAC recommended opportunities for increased cultural diversity training for RCPD officers

· Long-term goals for enhanced community-policing efforts in Rapid City

 The public and media are welcome to attend the meetings.
