Robbery

At around 6:00 p.m. on May 14th, police were dispatched to 11 New York Street for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Police made contact with the victim who said he was chased by two individuals with knives near the East Boulevard bridge before running into the store at 11 New York Street. The victim dropped some of his personal belongings, which the suspects then took before getting into a passenger vehicle and fleeing the scene. As police investigated, they observed the suspect vehicle driving westbound on E. North Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the two occupants were ordered out of the vehicle. The driver is identified as 32-year-old Steven Houser of Rapid City and the passenger is identified as 27-year-old  Robert Jenson of Rapid City. A search of the vehicle turned up the victim’s belongings and a metal scraper. A search of Houser’s person turned up a baggie containing a substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Both men were placed under arrest for 1stDegree Robbery. Houser was arrested for the additional offences of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
