Montana’s special election for Congress is today, and one side just made things a whole lot harder for itself.
Republican Greg Gianforte got upset at reporter Ben Jacobs last night and body-slammed the guy, breaking his glasses and sending him away in an ambulance. Gianforte was getting ready for an interview with local news at his campaign headquarters and Jacobs walked into the room to ask him a question. Gianforte obviously was not happy with that and allegedly turned on Jacobs, slamming him to the ground.
Jacobs already had his recorder rolling at the time of the incident and captured audio of the whole thing. The cops are looking into it as a possible assault, so the worst case is that Gianforte might get arrested while the polls are open. That probably won’t help his chances of winning the election!
