At around 1:25 a.m. on May 29th, police were dispatched to the 600 Block of Main Street for a report of a vehicle burglary. Police made contact with the victim who informed officers he just had a pistol stolen from his unattended parked vehicle. He informed police that he had left the loaded pistol in plain view on the passenger seat and could not recall if the vehicle was locked or not. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. Police continue to investigate.
*** Please note: It is HIGHLY inadvisable to leave a loaded pistol in plain view in a potentially unlocked vehicle. Always lock your vehicle doors when leaving the vehicle unattended and keep all valuables/firearms out of plain sight.
