Pursuit

On June 19th at around 9:18 p.m., police observed a Ford Taurus vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Main Street and 12th Street. Police attempted  a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it quickly accelerated westbound on Main Street. The officer terminated his pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle’s last known location was westbound onto Jackson Boulevard. As the officer continued onto Jackson Boulevard, they observed a minivan that had been rear-ended by the fleeing vehicle. The officer stopped to assist the driver. A short time later, dispatch advised police they were receiving calls about the suspect vehicle being abandoned in the area of Judy Avenue and State Street. Witnesses in the area of the abandoned vehicle stated they watched the vehicle’s occupants flee north from the location. An officer located the two suspects in the area of Sioux Park and a foot pursuit ensued. The officer was able to detain the passenger of the vehicle, who was ultimately identified as 19-year-old Anthony Keeble of Rapid City. Keeble was placed under arrest for Impersonation to Deceive Law enforcement after he lied about his identity, and a Warrant. Police continue to investigate the incident.
