There’s nothing like the feeling of working hard to get that new job, getting out on your own, then blowing it big time.
Authorities believe that new bus driver Shatima Simmons failed to set the parking brake of her New York City bus before leaving it, which is why the bus then started rolling backwards on its own. It crashed into several cars, nearly missing a handful of onlookers and clipping one bystander who was changing a flat tire.
“We are grateful that no one was seriously hurt,” a spokesperson for the Transit Workers Union said in a text to ABC 7 in New York. Unfortunately, things are not looking good for Simmons. Let’s hope she can find another job with less potential for causing damage.
