Warrant Subject

On June 24th at around 4:30 p.m., police were called to 1013 N. Lacrosse for a report that warrant subject 26-year-old Damon Long of Rapid City was at the residence. On arrival, police observed Long in the backyard. Long attempted to flee into the residence, but an officer grabbed him and stopped him from doing so. He was advised he was being placed under arrest for his warrants. Long continued to actively resist the officer’s attempts to place him under arrest. He was able to break free, causing minor injury to the officer, and ran through the residence and out the front door. An awaiting officer was able to successfully Taser Long as he exited the front door. Long was brought to the ground and placed into handcuffs. As is standard practice, a medical unit was called to the scene. In the meantime, he kicked another officer and was subsequently placed in a safety restraint system known as a ‘wrap.’ Long was placed under arrest for two counts of Simple Assault on Law Enforcement, Resisting Arrest, a Parole Hold, and his Warrants.
