At around 7:00 p.m. on June 27th, police took a report of a vehicle burglary which happened in the 300 block of Maple Avenue. The reporting party stated he had parked his truck in the 300 block of Maple Avenue the morning of June 27th and left it unattended and unlocked. When the reporting party returned to the truck, he noticed that his loaded handgun was missing from the center console. Police continue to investigate.
This continues to be a problem in our community. You should never leave a loaded firearm (or any other type of valuable item) in an unlocked and unattended vehicle. Residents should always lock their doors before leaving a vehicle unattended.
