Weapons Call

On July 7th at around 2:50 p.m., an officer was waved down in the area of 855 Omaha Street by a reporting party who advised they had seen a suspicious individual flashing a gun in the area of 1109 W. Omaha Street. Police responded to the area and located the suspect walking across 9th Street pointing the pistol at passing motorists. The responding officer drew his duty pistol and ordered the suspect to drop the gun, which he immediately did. The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Lariat Comes of Rapid City, was detained at gunpoint until other officers could arrive to assist placing him in handcuffs. On further investigation, the pistol ended up being a CO2 BB gun made to look like a replica of a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Comes was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Pennington County Jail.
