Car vs. Motorcycle Crash

On July 10th around 5:10 p.m., police responded to the area of Mountain View Road and W. Main Street for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. After speaking to witnesses, police determined the car involved in the crash was attempting to cross Mountain View Road from 601 Mountain View Road when it struck the motorcyclist (who was southbound on Mountain View Road). The suspect vehicle was last seen headed east from the scene of the crash. After leaving the scene, the juvenile driver of the vehicle called dispatch from the parking lot at 1319 W. Main Street to report the crash. It was determined that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. Police are working to make sure the juvenile driver will be held accountable for his actions though the juvenile court system.
