Tennis superstar Serena Williams has made a ton of money in her career. She recently sat down with a show called Kneading Dough and talked about how making a ton of money has never really mattered to her. Celebrities and athletes say that kind of stuff all of the time, but we actually kind of believe Serena when she says so.
In the clip below, Williams revealed that the first time she ever received a million dollar check, she tried to deposit it at her bank’s drive-thru! The teller at the bank told her that the amount was too big and that she’d actually have to come into the bank in order to deposit it. Serena also talked about how she never played for money and that at the end of her first year, they had to deliver her winnings to her since she never picked them up on her own. So yeah, it seems like she was never really in it for the money.
