Motorcycle Crash

On August 6th around 4:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of E. Anamosa and E. North Street for a report of a crash with injuries. A single motorcycle had struck an SUV near the intersection. Medical personnel arrived on scene and began treating the motorcyclist. As officers worked to safely control traffic through the active crash scene, a female (not directly involved in the crash) repeatedly walked in and out of the active crash scene. The woman, identified as 35-year-old Taylor Davidson was told multiple times that she needed to stay out of the active scene and wait on the side of the road. She continued to be uncooperative and she was advised she was being placed under arrest. She attempted to kick the arresting officer. She was placed under arrest for Obstruction and taken to the Pennington County Jail. After speaking to witnesses, police determined the crash occurred after two motorcycles were travelling north on E. North Street at a high rate of speed (described by witnesses as being over 100 mph). As one of the motorcycles approached the intersection at E. North Street and E. Anamosa Street, it attempted to swerve around an SUV. The motorcycle struck the SUV. The motorcyclist was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
