ABC News’ Live Coverage From The Last Total Solar Eclipse In 1979 (Video)

The last time there was a total solar eclipse visible in North America was February 26, 1979, 38 years ago.  In the clip below, anchor Frank Reynolds was live in studio taking in the views of the eclipse from various viewing stations across the country.  And some of the views were simply breathtaking!

After 10 minutes of live coverage, Reynolds then referenced that the next total solar eclipse would be in 38 years on August 21, 2017 and that he hopes that “the shadow of the moon [will] fall on a world at peace.
