On August 19th at around 2:20 p.m., an officer was assisting with a traffic crash in the parking lot of 35 Omaha Street when a store clerk approached the officer to say a male suspect had just left the store without paying for a case of beer. The officer observed the suspect walking across Omaha Street, causing vehicles to stop abruptly to avoid hitting him. The officer radioed out the suspect’s description to other officers in the area, and the suspect was quickly detained in the area south of Rapid Creek. The suspect was positively identified as 27-year-old Sean Browneyes of Rapid City. He was placed under arrest for Theft and Disorderly Conduct.
