Local Library Reminds People Chuck E. Cheese Coins Can Not Be Used to Pay Fines (Video)

Currency is a worldwide phenomena that some people have and others, well…don’t. Among those who “don’t” have real currency, like these people at the Danvers, Massachusetts library, are some creative improvisers.

The Peabody Institute Library in Danvers had to take to Facebook to remind patrons that Chuck E. Cheese tokens do not work when it comes to paying fees.

“This summer we’ve had a surge of folks attempting to pay fines and printing fees with tokens from Chuck E Cheese and Bonkers,” said the library. “Since they are not legal tender, we cannot accept them.”

The library also noted Canadian currency is not accepted either.
