Police seek public’s help to identify robbery suspect

Rapid City police are looking to the public for help in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery in the evening hours of September 5th.

 At around 9:00 p.m. on September 5th, police responded to 3275 Cambell Street for a report of an armed robbery which had just taken place. On arrival, police made contact with employees of the business. One employee had a minor injury to his head.

 Witnesses informed police that an unknown male subject had entered the store brandishing a knife and jumped over the counter. The suspect then struck an employee in the head before demanding money from the registers. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

 Police were able to relay a suspect description over the radio as a perimeter was formed around the area. A police K9 unit was called in to track the suspect. The suspect was not located.

 The suspect is described by witnesses as a Native American male, aged 20 to 30, standing around 6’0” tall, and weighing around 200 lbs. Witnesses also described the suspect’s face as acne-scarred. He was wearing a dark grey hoody, black sweatpants, black and white DC shoes, a black hat with a red bill, a black and white bandanna, and where framed sunglasses.
