If you’ve ever been to a drag show, you know it’s actually pretty harmless. There’s just a lot of fake boobs, tape, wigs, makeup, and lip syncing! If it’s not your favorite thing to see, chances are they happen at certain bars that you can choose to not go to.
In Portland, Tennessee, a drag performance at Envy Bar has sparked changes in ordinances to keep that sort of thing out. Lumping drag shows into the same category as “adult entertainment” such as strip clubs, means they are not allowed on the Main St. “business district” of town.
The mayor is all for getting rid of them but we think it’s a bit of a drag.
